Watercolor Layered Heart
Framed Watercolor Layered Hearts Artwork by Tiffany Windsor
MATERIALS
Watercolors
Watercolor Paper
Brush & Water
Micron Black Pen .05
Pencil
Scissors
Aleene’s Tacky Glue
Frame (I purchased from Dollar Tree)
Optional: Alphabet rubber stamps or alphabet stickers
HOW TO
Brush water onto your paper from edge to edge.
Dip brush in water and swirl onto watercolor of your choice to pick up color on the brush.
Draw brush across paper in small sections. Repeat to cover the entire paper with a rainbow of colors. Let dry.
The wood grain look is created in the same way with lines of color. I also used a dry background technique for some of the lines of colors.
Sketch largest heart onto paper with pencil. Cut inside the pattern line (so that you don’t have to erase the pencil later.)
Using your large heart for the pattern for the next layer cut away more along the edge so that each heart layer is smaller and smaller.
Use black pen to draw on each piece.
Glue layers together and glue onto background paper.
Place in frame.
Enjoy the love!
Oops! I forgot to sketch out my heart and leaf patterns before I glued them so here are two patterns I found on Canva that are very close!
